Traveling from Marrakesh to Tata and Taroudant via the Zagora Desert will give you a wonderful experience of Morocco's diverse landscapes. The journey will likely take you through stunning desert scenery, charming towns, and historical sites.

 

Day 1: Marrakesh to Zagora

Start early from Marrakesh to drive towards Zagora.

Enjoy the scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains.

Visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Continue your journey to Zagora and spend the night in a traditional desert camp.

 

Day 2: Zagora to Tata

After breakfast, head towards Tata.

Visit the Draa Valley and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

Explore Tata and its surroundings, including the Tata Oasis and the old Kasbah.

 

Day 3: Tata to Taroudant

Depart from Tata towards Taroudant.

Visit the Souss-Massa National Park on the way.

Explore Taroudant, known for its red walls and bustling souks.

 

Day 4: Taroudant to Marrakesh

Depart from Taroudant back to Marrakesh.

Stop at interesting places along the way, like the Argan oil cooperatives or small villages.

Arrive back in Marrakesh by the evening.

Day 1: Marrakesh to Zagora

Distance: Approximately 370 kilometers (230 miles)

Driving Time: Around 6-7 hours, depending on traffic and stops

Highlights: High Atlas Mountains, Tizi n'Tichka Pass, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

Overnight: Stay in a traditional desert camp in Zagora, experience a camel ride, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars.

 

Day 2: Zagora to Tata

Distance: Approximately 260 kilometers (160 miles)

Driving Time: Around 4-5 hours

Highlights: Draa Valley, Agdz, Tizi n'Tinifift Pass, Tata Oasis

Overnight: Stay in Tata, explore the town, visit the old Kasbah, and relax by the oasis.

 

Day 3: Tata to Taroudant

Distance: Approximately 280 kilometers (175 miles)

Driving Time: Around 4-5 hours

Highlights: Souss-Massa National Park, Taliouine (known for saffron production), Taroudant's red walls, souks, and historic sites.

Overnight: Stay in Taroudant, explore the town, and enjoy its laid-back atmosphere.

 

Day 4: Taroudant to Marrakesh

Distance: Approximately 230 kilometers (145 miles)

Driving Time: Around 3-4 hours

Highlights: Argan oil cooperatives, small villages, Tizi n'Test Pass (for stunning views)

Return to Marrakesh by evening, where you can reflect on your desert adventure and explore more of the city's vibrant culture and cuisine.
